FC Desamparados played against Escorpiones de Belén as a visitor on Sunday, October 9th at 1:00pm at the Polideportivo de Belén. The game was open to public, and the final score was 1-0 in favor of FC Desamparados.

This was a crucial game as both teams are fighting for a spot to qualify for the next round. Escorpiones de Belén, who’s in the 3rd place of the table, wanted those 3 points to secure its spot. Yet, FC Desamparados depended on a win in order still have a chance to make it to the next round.
With a rainy weather throughout the entire game, Escorpiones de Belén started strong and had a clear opportunity to score in the 5th minute of the game. However, FC Desamparados’ goalkeeper, Alex Urbina, did an outstanding save to keep the scoreboard on cero.
Later on, after being out for the past 3 games due to an injury, Tommy Muñoz opened the scoreboard on the 38th minute. The midfielder took a shot when stepping into the box, and with a small deflection from a defender, it was impossible for the goalkeeper to stop it.

The game continued to be played at a high intensity, where both teams had opportunities to score, nevertheless, there was no change in the scoreboard.
Following the match, FC Desamparados will face Uruguay Coronado on Saturday, October 15th. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00pm at the Estadio Jorge Hernán “Cuty” Monge and the entrance has a cost of 2 mil colones.
