FC Desamparados took on Uruguay de Coronado at the Estadio Colleya Fonseca last Friday, September 15th at 8:00pm.
This was Walter Centeno’s first game as the new coach for FC Desamparados, who was facing the teams’ former coach, Cristian Salomon, now coaching for CS Uruguay de Coronado.
Both teams started strong attempting to assert their dominance and secure those three points; however, the home team, FC Desamparados, seemed to find clearer chances towards goal.
It was on the 14th minute, after a cross from Randy Ramírez and a clearance from the Uruguay defender, that the Panamanian Sergio Moreno encountered the ball coming into the box and stroke the ball to the back of the net.
FC Desamparados took the lead and maintained the possession of the ball throughout the first half, nevertheless, CS Uruguay Coronado managed to tie the scoreboard right before half time at the 45th minute.
Once second half started, CS Uruguay Coronado was the first to strike and took the lead in 53rd minute.
It was until the 63rd minute, that the defender, Darío Delgado, tied the scoreboard from inside the box off from a free kick delivered by Sergio Moreno.
The game continued at a high tempo with both teams attempting to secure the three points for the night.
It was once again the Panamanian Sergio Moreno, who dribbled in outside the box, took on a defender and then took a shot, placing the ball in the bottom right corner of the goal. FC Desamparados took the lead and maintained the 3-2 scoreboard until the final whistle in the 90 + 4’ minute.
Following the match, FC Desamparados will encounter Municipal Turrialba on Sunday September 24th, at 11:00am at the Estadio Rafael Ángel Camacho.
