FC Desamparados took on Cariari Pococí at the Estadio Coyella Fonseca on Friday, August 25th at 8:00pm.
The game began with a tight first half. The home team saw a clear opportunity in the second minute, after Kevin Baltodano crossed a great ball to the striker, Alejandro Castro, leaving him face-to-face with the opponent goalkeeper and missed his shot.
The game continued with lots of attacks and dominance from the home team, nevertheless it was Cariari Pococí the one to break the deadlock on the 33rd minute. The game continued at a high intensity, and FC Desamparados was able to tie on the 43rd minute. The outside back, Baltodano, delivered a magestic service off from a corner to the defender, Darío Delgado, who stroke with a header and placed the ball in the back of the net.
The game went to half time with a 1-1 tie.
The second half started strong, when the home team asserted their dominance and created lots of chances, yet they weren’t able to finish them. That momentum changed when Cariari Pococí managed to score on the 88th minute.
Despite a spirited effort to level the game, FC Desamparados were unable to find an equalizer. The final score was 1-2 in favor of the away team, Cariari Pococí.
Following the match, FC Desamparados will encounter Municipal Santa Ana on Friday September 1st, at 8:00pm on their home field, Estadio Coyella Fonseca.
