FC Desamparados opened the Liga de Ascenso participation with a defeat against AD Aserrí FC on Friday, July 28th at 8:00pm on their home field, Estadio Coyella Fonseca. The game was open to public and the home team lost 0 to 1.
Both teams were keen to start the tournament on the right foot, and Aserrí were handed an early boost in pursuit of that when Darryn Rojas Jiménez put them ahead after eleven minutes.
Despite being a goal down the home team was attempting to assert their dominance, yet struggled in the first half as their opponent maintain control of possession and proved difficult to break down and that put chances at a premium.
FC Desamparados continued to show glimpses of good football while playing at a high tempo, yet were not able to concrete their chances. There was no more goals scored, leaving the scoreboard at 1-0 in favor of the visitors.
The Sub 20 players who summed minutes in the game were Orlando Rojas and Randy Ramírez with 90 minutes each, Dylan Alpizar with 35 minutes and Julián Mesén with 5 minutes.
