Our player, Ricardo Peña has been loaned to Spartak Trnava with an option to buy. The Costa Rican midfielder, will now play Conference League with his new Slovakian team.
With only 19 years of age, Peña made the leap from FC Desamparados to Europe back in 2022.
The midfielder was part of the Real Betis youth team, then proceed to play with the U23 National Team for the Maurice Revello Tournament and was then called by Luis Fernando Suárez for the Copa Oro. Peña had his debut with the Costa Rican National Team in June 2023.
Peña is excited for this new adventure, “I’m really happy and grateful with God because I feel this is a huge step for me, taking me closer to my objective of settling in Europe,” Peña says.
He continues, “This is going to be a new experience but something I’m well prepared for. I feel that what’s going to be the most different is the language, but I’ll get used to it quick.”
Peña hopes to get a lot of minutes and playing time, as it is what he wants and needs.
