FC Desamparados faced Santa Ana FC on Wednesday, March 6th at 7:00pm as a visitor at the Estadio Piedades de Santa Ana. The game was open to public and the final score was 6-2 in favor of the home team.
The game started strong, with both team attempting to assert their dominance. Nevertheless, FC Desamparados broke the deadlock on the 15th minute. Assisted by Randy Ramírez, Derrik Stephenson scored in the small box off from a header.
Santa Ana FC kept fighting back, managing to find the back of the net only 6 minutes later, on the 21st minute.
It took FC Desamparados only 5 minutes to get ahead of the score with a banger from Fabricio Venegas on the 26th minute. However, one minute later Santa Ana FC tied the score once again.
The game continued at a high tempo with both teams seeking for the lead, until the 37th minute when Santa Ana FC scored, leaving the scoreboard 3-2 for half time.
The attacks from Santa Ana FC continued in the second half, against an FC Desamparados that struggled to concrete their chances. On the contrary, Santa Ana made sure to assert their dominance by scoring three more goals in the 56th, 67th and 94th minute.
Even though it was a rough night for FC Desamparados, there were several under 21 players that had a great performance, such as the left back Alejandro Fonseca, midfielder Luis Vera and forward Fabricio Venegas.
Following the match, FC Desamparados will encounter Aserrí FC as a visitor on Friday march 17th, at 3:00pm on the ST Center. The match will be open to public and will be crucial for FC Desamparados to wash their face off from the bottom of the table.
