FC Desamparados is the team, from all the 17 Second Division teams, that has the most minutes played for the under 21 players this tournament.
With the team having played 14 games so far this season, and with 18 players that are under 21 years of age, the team has accumulated 5,731 minutes for the under 21 players.
The player that has played the most minutes so far this season is the goalkeeper, Alexandre Urbina. With only 19 years of age, Urbina has started all but one game, accumulating a total of 1,170 minutes so far this season.
Based on an interview made to Urbina, he explained how grateful and happy, “Personally I feel really happy to have gained so many minutes of play during the season. This is an objective that I previously had, which I had never accomplished before,” Urbina says.
He continued, “It all comes down to the trust and confidence the coaching staff has given me. And working hard in practices and the games is the way I’ve managed to get their confidence to play.”
The goalkeeper also explained how your age should not limit a player, “I believe that regardless the age, I’ve always given my 100% in each game, managing to rely in my teammates and I’m happy for achieving this goal,” he says.
Following FC Desamparados, the second team with most under 21 minutes played is Uruguay Coronado with 4,014 minutes this season.
