After being out for all of this season, Christian Muñoz finally played his first game back this past Saturday against Uruguay Coronado.
Right at the end of pre season, the midfielder, Christian Muñoz suffered an injury. Muñoz was diagnosed with bone marrow edema in the knee, as well as a slight compromised meniscus. Nevertheless, it would regenerate by itself with a lot of specific strengthening exercises.
Therefore, after three months of being out, he finally played 45 minutes on the last game this weekend, “I’m really happy I’m able to play again as coming back from an injury is always hard,” Muñoz says.
Muñoz expressed how tough it was to be out for three months, “These were three hard months for me, as it was almost at the end of the pre season that I got injured. There was a lot of back and forth in the diagnosis, making hard to come back,” he says.
He continued, “Thanks to God everything worked out and I’ve been doing a lot of strengthening exercises in the gym for the past month, specific exercises for quadriceps and calves, as well as injury prevention exercises.”
The also shared his expectations for what’s left of this season. “I have high expectations for the team. Since we started pre season you could feel how united the team was, we’re a family,” Muñoz says.
He finished by stating that the team has high expectations; they’re looking to become champions and ascending to the first division. “Hopefully we can achieve that goal soon, because we’re humble, we are a team that works well, we want great things and will do anything to achieve this,” he says.
