On Saturday, FC Desamparados will receive San José FC at the Estadio Jorge Hernán Cuty Monge at 2:00pm.
The game will be open to public and the entrance has a cost of 2 mil colones.
If the home team wins this game, they practically have their ticket bought to the next round.
Based on an interview made to the two-in-a-row-MVP, Jose Alejandro Ruiz, this is going to be a crucial game for the team, “It is a very important one, because if we win then we are practically qualified to the next round,” he says.
He also explained how the team has been working hard throughout the week in order to accomplish their objective, “It has been a really good week training wise, where we feel a good pressure that we are close to achieving our first goal, which is to qualify to the next round,” Ruiz says.
He continued, “The team has been playing really well, we won the last two games and we want to end the group stage by winning the remaining two games in order to arrive highly motivated to the final stages.”
However, due to an accumulation of five yellow cards, the forward and two-time-MVP, will not be allowed to play this upcoming match. “Even though I can’t play on Saturday, I believe there will not be an issue, considering throughout the season the team has had several players out due to cards or injuries. Therefore, there has been a lot of rotation from the players,” Ruiz says.
Overall, Ruiz believes team has never been this united and that all his teammates are focused in achieving their objective. Ruiz continued, “We are positive and we hope that we get that win in order to accomplish our first goal and then hopefully our next, which is to be champions.”
