FC Desamparados won last Wednesday, September 7th, against Municipal Turrialba, defending their non-losing-streak at home games. The final score was 4-0 with a hat-trick by the Panamanian, Sergio Moreno.
The game was played at 11:00am at the Estadio Jorge Hernán “Cuty” Monge, and it was open to public.
The home team, FC Desamparados, opened the scoring in the 35th minute after Sergio Moreno receives an impeccable through pass and shot inside the box.
It was only 3 minutes later when the Panamanian took a free kick outside the box and perfectly shot towards the upper ninety.
To finish off the first half, Jordin Urbina left the advantage by 3, when he scored in the 43rd minute.
The last goal of the match came in the 70th minute, when Sergio Moreno headed the ball inside the box, marking his third goal of the match. “I’m extremely happy for my goals, considering I was coming back from an injury and had been out for the last three games. Therefore, coming back in that way is great for me,” said the Panamanian.
Moreno explained the victory gave himself and his teammates a lot of confidence, “We accomplished our goal of winning those three points. We truly needed that victory and it gives us strength to close the first round and begin the second round in the best possible way,” Moreno said.
The final score was 4-0.
Following the match, FC Desamparados will attempt to defend their home field once again on Sunday September 11th, against Cariari Pococí. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00pm at the Estadio Jorge Hernán “Cuty” Monge. The game will be open to public and the entrance will have a cost of 2,000 mil colones.
