On Thursday, August 11th, FC Desamparados played their second away game of the season against Municipal Santa Ana. The game was played at Rafael Bolaños Stadium at 3:00PM and FC Desamparados finally got their first win of the season with 1-0 result and a goal from the newly incorporated player, Fabricio Venegas.
Venegas signed with the team at the beginning of pre-season after previously playing for Municipal Santa Ana. After working hard throughout the entire preseason and first games of the season, Fabricio Venegas was able to score his first goal with the team last Thursday.
Scoring his first goal with FC Desamparados gave Venegas pure joy, “After scoring the goal, I felt a lot of happiness as I was able to contribute to the team,” he explained.
Even though this is his first season with FC Desamparados, Venegas explained how comfortable he’s felt with the team and how much support he’s received. He said, “I’m really comfortable because since starting with the team, my fellow teammates have received me really well and supported me at all times.”
Venegas hopes the team can reach their common goal and that he can continue scoring more goals throughout the season. “There is a lot of work to do and things to improve in order to reach our goal of qualifying to the next round and even more to become champions. From now on, I will continue to try and score more goals for the team,” Venegas said.
