The Consultants midfielder, Andrey Salmerón, celebrated turning 18 years old in a special way, away from home and training with one of the most historic teams in Europe, FC Basel from Switzerland.
Last Sunday Salmerón traveled with his agent, José Luis Rodríguez, to the city of Zurich and later they moved to Basel, the team’s headquarters.
“Gato” is doing an trial with the professional team and will even have the opportunity to play a friendly match in Germany with them.
In the midst of all these great opportunities, Andrey’s 18th birthday arrived, who made his debut at the age of 16 with our team in the Liga de Ascenso in Costa Rica.
“Andrey is a very complete player who raises the interest of any team. He is in the U-20 National Team of his country and with his club he always makes a difference. We are sure that this experience at FC Basel will be of great help for his professional development”, Rodríguez explained.
In recent months Salmerón has been full of new experiences. He was first in Germany with Hannover 96 doing an internship, then he was called up to the U-20 National Team to play friendly matches ahead of the qualifiers for the World Cup and also has played this season with Futbol Consultants Desamparados.
Along with Rodríguez and Salmerón, there is also Santiago Van der Putten, a player who plays at Liga Deportiva Alajuelense of the Costa Rican first division.
