Futbol Consultants started with a 1-1 draw against Aserrí in the 2022 Clausura of the Liga de Ascenso, in a match where a red card turned the game on it’s head.
Our team started the game with a lot of ball possession and had the most dangerous chances on goal.
However, still in the first half, Kevin Baltodano was sent off after a foul in the middle of the field.
Consultants had to hold the 0-0 scoreline and rethink things in the second half. Coach Edson Soto replaced Isaac Garro with Cameron Schneider, who minutes later put our team up 1-0 on the scoreboard.
After a very well executed free kick by Christian Muñoz, the American jumped higher than everyone else to win the ball and make it 1-0.
On the same play, Schneider hit the post with his head and had to play bleeding and bandaged for the rest of the game. He even received three stitches to his forehead after the match ended.
Although Consultants had chances to increase the scoreline, the ball never hit the back of the net and in the 92nd minute of the game, Aserrí equalized the score in a play where the linesman called off-side, but the referee said it was goal.
Our boys will face Uruguay de Coronado at the Jorge Hernán Cuty Monge stadium. A game that is scheduled for next Wednesday, January 26 at 11 a.m. Costa Rica time.
