Despite the great team effort last Sunday, it was not enough to secure three points at home. Unfortunately, FC suffered a painful 1-2 defeat against Municipal Santa Ana in the final minutes of the game.
In the 7th minute, Randy Taylor put the visitors ahead with a header, but Consultants never let their guard down and fought hard for the equalizer.
In the first half, our boys dominated possession and created the clearest chances. Somehow, we weren’t able to find the net.
In the second half, coach Edson Soto sent Randy Ramírez onto the field to create more offense on the wings and look for the draw.
It wasn’t until the 81st minute when, in a great play down the left wing, Andrey Salmerón served the ball for Marc Marruecos and the Spaniard sent the ball into the back of the net.
True to their style, our boys went on the attack in search of the winning goal, but Santa Ana, in a strange play, managed to capitalize on a loose ball with only two minutes left in the game.
With the defeat, Consultants remains in the fight to qualify for the quarterfinals. Currently the team has 16 points and sits in sixth place on the leaderboard, three points from fourth place.
The team will have action again October 24 when they face Barrio México at Cuty Monge Stadium.
