Futbol Consultants added another victory on Sunday at Ebal Rodríguez Stadium in Guápiles against A.D. Cariari thanks to a last minute goal from academy player Randy Ramírez.
Under heavy rain in the Caribbean of Costa Rica, the team put all its effort to go on the attack from the start.
FC increased the intensity when Cariari’s player, Deivis Paniagua, was sent off after receiving a second yellow card at the 28th minute.
An extraordinary long pass from Tommy Muñoz started the play of our first goal. The ball fell at the feet of Stiven Pretel who removed the goalkeeper’s mark and left the stage clear for Jairo Arrieta to open the score at 42nd minute and make his third goal of the season.
However, the home team reacted almost immediately and tied at the 45th through Anderson Nuñez.
With the 1 – 1 tie on the scoreboard, we went to rest.
In the second half, Consultants came out with the intention of looking for the advantage, but the rival defense was reinforced against the attack of our boys.
As usual, FC fought to the end and got the award at the third minute of stoppage time (93′).
Arrieta lowered an Alexander Monge’s cross from the left and served Randy Ramírez, only 17 years old, to finish with his right leg and score the winning goal, which was also his first career goal in the professional stage.
With this result, FC reached 11 points in the season and is only 2 goals away from qualification zone.
The next game of the “kids” will be on Wednesday, September 15th at 11 a.m. against Municipal Turrialba at home, (Jorge Hernán “Cuty” Monge stadium).
